With her sister Nina she went to schools that included First Nations children as well as children from other cultures. Isabel currently resides with her family in Byron Bay NSW Australia. Isabel was involved in drama already during her school days. She took Drama classes at The Queensland University of Technology and in the last few years, also, her own Perdekamp Emotional Method. Her auditions were not for any roles before her agent discovered her in 2002. She auditioned for part on Home and Away (1988). They thought she was not right to play the part, but they were impressed enough to create a new part for Tasha.
